Frequently Asked Questions

Who can use ECHOS' services?
The mission of ECHOS is to help those who are in need of medical/social services gain access to those services available in the community. We serve both children and adults. All are welcomed at ECHOS. There are no restrictions relative to local residence or immigration status.

Does ECHOS charge for its services?
There is no charge for services provided by the members of the ECHOS staff or for services received from community providers on the ECHOS campus. There may be some fees for services offered by our community service partners at their primary locations.

What documents do I need to bring when I visit ECHOS?
You do not need to bring specific documents to visit ECHOS. Some programs, such as the Medicaid and Gold Card programs, will require certain forms of identification and proof of residency. The ECHOS staff will help you determine what paperwork is needed for the programs to which you are applying.

What if I don't speak English?
The ECHOS staff and volunteers work with clients to overcome language barriers.

How is ECHOS funded?
ECHOS is a non-profit organization and relies on the generosity of individuals as well as grant funding. Individuals may contribute by becoming an ECHOS Angel or by making a one-time donation. ECHOS also participates in the Kroger Share Card program where a donation is made to ECHOS each time you use your card at Kroger's. See our "ECHOS Donor link."

ECHOS has 501(c)3 status and, as such, contributions made to ECHOS are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. All donors receive appropriate documentation of their gift to ECHOS at year-end.

Does ECHOS use volunteers? Yes. Opportunities for volunteering vary from day to day and season to season. Please call Kathy Eckhardt, our volunteer coordinator, and let her help you get "linked" to ECHOS! 713.270.0369.
